She is official, again! Readoption was basically another hoop for us to jump to make things a little simpler for Ellie down the road. (I am assuming for driver's license (ahhh!), college/financial aid (oh boy), and marriage license (WOAH!!) type of things). We did get to change her first and middle names and we will be receive a US issued birth certificate stating her foreign birth.
We had a special (early) breakfast at a cute little place on the square in town.

Grammy and Gramps
Congratulations on getting the readoption done. Lili's readoption was done on September 19th and we got her State of Illinois Record of a Foregin Birth certificate in the mail on October 21st. I also see from your picture that we had the same judge. And great picture!!!
Now you can look forward to doing what I'm planning on doing this week, apply for her new COC and social security card. Since we are in process of our next adoption and planning a trip to Guatemala next fall, I will also need to apply for her U.S. passport. It will be so nice to have all the little things taken care of once and for all.
Yay! Congratulations!! I love the look on Noah's face at the breakfast table. ha.
I have a wonderful friend who adopts all her children and I have learned through her the stresses and great unknown of adoption. She has only done adoptions stateside but is currently working on her third. I am so glad to see that things are all coming together. By the way I am in a very distant (not really) way related to grammy. I saw your link on her blog. I have heard a lot about your family from her. You sound like an amazing family. She says that we would be fast friends if not separated by most of the U.S.
Wonderful! Truly wish we could have been there to celebrate with you. :)
Congratulations!
What a blessed day!
We're so grateful for all the Lord has done...what a journey! Welcome, Ellie!
Congratulations! Doesn't it feel good to have that part official and now done. What a great day!
