New Layout

We are getting ready for the Cherry Festival in our town...don't know that there are any cherry trees, but we do have the Cherry Tree Shopping Center. :) They have pretty good fireworks that we can see from our home. The kids and I invited several of the neighbors over for summer desserts and to watch the fireworks. This is our "second annual"... such a great community event!

Speaking of community, for those non-local, non-family, we are in the process of planting a church! This is the first Sunday we will meet as a Sunday School at the mother church. We moved to this town nearly 3 years ago, and have been anticipating the launch of Bethany Community Church ever since. It is amazing (exciting and scary) that the time has come! I told several people that this was the "first week of the rest of our lives" as Daniel will now be responsible for the sermon every week and the shepherding of a flock. We will spend the summer getting ready for this newest arrival with a due date of September 7th. We are thrilled to see how the Lord will work in our community!

Wow! Really bright new blogsite! I like it. REd is one of my favorite colors too.
Exciting news about the new church that is being planted and congrats to Daniel in his new position as Senior Pastor of the new church. I know how he must be really working hard (and you too) for the new endeavor. We love you all,
Grammy (aka Grandma)

Wonderful news about the new church family!! I am so thankful that He has waited until Ellie was home before the first service...that is God's mighty hand at work! Now, you can all minister together!

Hugs!
Kristin

We can't wait to visit Bethany Community on a trip back sometime. We are very excited for you and Daniel and all the flock that will be starting this church with you, but think Bethany Des Moines is missing...

Hi Whitney.
Glad that you found my site and left a comment on my Birthmother's Day post!
You have a beautiful family. I'll have to look around and see if I can find your adoption story.
You and your husband are church planters!! The college minister at our church announced 2 weeks ago to the congregation that he and his family would be leaving in view of God's calling them to go to Virginia and be church planters. We are sad to see them go but, it is exciting to hear and see what God will have them do!!
Blessings!
